Dog walker in Milton Keynes

Why do you do a trial walk before taking on a new dog?

It is very important to me that any new dogs get on with the existing dogs that I walk. This is only fair to my current dogs and also to any potential new dogs that I may take on. I group the dogs accordingly and it wouldn’t be right to upset that balance. Some of the best behaved, well trained dogs can behave differently within a small group and therefore I have to assess every dog before taking them on.

How many dogs do you walk at one time?

I walk a maximum of 4 dogs. This allows me to have full control over the dogs and to provide them with the time and attention they need.

Do you work weekends?

My main working days are Monday to Friday and every first Saturday of the month. However, I understand that owners may need some extra assistance at weekends. Therefore, this will be by appointment only.

Do you let the dogs off the lead?

Once I feel I have built up a sufficient relationship with your dog and feel it is appropriate, I will be happy to walk your dog(s) off lead should you wish.

Do you have insurance?

Yes. Canine Adventures is fully insured, which includes key cover.

What do I do if I need to cancel?

Please contact me via phone or email giving 24 hours’ notice otherwise the full fee will be due.

Do you have a DBS check?

Yes. I have a Disclosure and Barring Service check confirming that I have no convictions, cautions, reprimands or warnings. My certificate is available for inspection.

Does my dog need to be microchipped?

As of April 2016 it is compulsory for every dog to have a microchip. As a dog owner it is also a legal requirement to keep your dog’s chip details up to date and for your dog to wear a collar and tag in public. Your dog must be microchipped with a collar and tag before they can join the walks.

Do I need to be at home for you to collect or drop off my dog?

No. Most clients are comfortable sharing a set of keys with me to allow me to collect and drop off your dog even if you're not there.

Your key will be kept safe and away from personal information and no key can be identified to any property. In the event of your key being lost or stolen I will advise you immediately.

Do you have any qualifications?

Yes I have a qualification in Dog Behaviour and Training. I will be expanding on this with further training.

I also have a certificate in Pet First Aid and CPR.
